I recall the very first time I drove into Lake County back in 1995 and marveled at the beauty and natural splendor around the County. Since that time, I have taken the opportunity to personally experience the wonderful wildlife, hiking trails, magnificent views, fishing and many water sports activities. I have also raised a family and worked in Lake County’s economic environment which, at times, has been difficult.
I have found that whether it be good times or difficult times, the most important thing we can do, as a person, is be involved or become involved in the community around you. This is the only way everyone will prosper regardless of the economic climate. One of the best run and highly effective local community groups that I have encountered is the Lake County Chamber of Commerce. It is made up of people like you and I, 500+ businesses and individuals who address the challenges of running a business in these extremely trying times. How do we maintain our businesses and stay sustainable? How do we convince the community to shop, stay and play in Lake County?
You have questions and our Chamber’s dedicated staff and volunteers work hard to help find the answers. Call them! They welcome questions, and if it’s happening in Lake County, the Chamber knows where, when, and how! The Chamber has many committees that, I can assure you, will appeal to one of your desires to make your world (Lake County) a better place. These committees invite and welcome local members to participate in helping grow, and maintain our businesses. These committees are what help make Lake County so special, and we invite and welcome your personal input and involvement.
So enjoy our unique piece of heaven. We’re glad you’re here! Enjoy the magnificent sunrises and sunsets, and the best standard of living in-between, anywhere to be found! We encourage you to leave your footprints in the sand (by getting involved), take delight in stepping back in time where neighbors value each other and where we still smile at strangers. Thank you, get involved, give us your time and input, and come back to visit again and again.
