Spring Fling Luncheon & Awards, Robinson Rancheria Resort & Casino , Nice
Soroptimist International of Clear Lake presents the Spring Fling Luncheon & Awards, including a silent auction and raffles. Meet the award winners: Three deserving women will be honored with a monetary award to help them go back to school and improve their lives--a teen girl who does outstanding volunteer work in her community and a woman who has dedicated her life to helping women in Lake County. Reserve your tickets no later than February 20th. Tickets include lunch, beverage and dessert bar. Lake County Sculpture Walk 2008, Middletown County Park
Join an amazing group of artists in creating an extraordinary 5-month, outdoor sculptural experience. Artists are invited to create temporary works of minimal impact to the landscape of the beautiful 107 acre Middletown County Park. Sculptures made from, or relating to nature, will be sited along both sides of a 3/8 mile central trail through meadows and woodland. Submissions must be received by March 15, 2008. Works will be installed from May 17th through May 25th, and be removed October 18th through October 26th. A public reception will be held at the park on June 8th. There is a $15 submission fee for each entry. Forms and information are available at the Lake County Arts Council's Main Street Gallery, 325 North Main St., Lakeport. Submissions and fees are due by March 15th and will be acknowledged upon receipt. Contact EcoArts directly for late submission information.

21ST ANNUAL HOLDER FORD-MERCURY TOURNAMENT, Library Park, Lakeport
Considered by some sportsmen to be the most popular event on Clear Lake, the laid-back atmosphere draws pro and amateur teams alike. A bbq dinner is served at 5:30pm on Saturday at the Lake County Fairgrounds. Entry fees are $100 per team, plus the Big Fish Option. The teams especially appreciate the 100% payback in prizes on the entry fees for the event. Sponsored by Holder Ford-Mercury and the Lakeport Regional Chamber of Commerce. The host lodging facility is Skylark Shores Resort and is also hosting the weigh-ins. The teams put in at Library Park, Lakeport. Applications must be received at Holder Ford-Mercury in Lakeport no later than 5 pm on Friday, March 14, 2008. No exceptions.

Concerts with Conversation, Tallman Hotel, Upper Lake
A three-course dinner with wine in the hotel dining room followed by an informal concert and dialog with the musicians in the adjacent Riffe's Meeting House. A social hour in the parlor beginning at 5:30pm will enable you to meet the artists and other guests. Dinner will be served at 6:15pm followed by the concert at 7:30pm. Ten percent of the proceeds of this series will be donated to the Soper-Reese Community Theatre Fund for the creation of a state of the art performing arts center in Lakeport. Tickets for individual concerts or for the entire series are available by calling the Tallman Hotel reservation desk. Seating capacity is limited.
An evening of upbeat ragtime music with violinist David Reffkin accompanied on piano by Chris Alexander. Founder and co-director of the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival, David is the dean of the San Francisco ragtime scene. He has hosted the weekly show "The Ragtime Machine" on KUSF Radio since 1981.

This event provides recognition for the hardworking volunteers, businesses and organizations that do so much for Lake County. The agenda is as follows:
4:00 pm to 5:00 pm--No-host cocktail reception;
5:00 pm to 7:30 pm--Five-course dinner and dinner show entertainment;
7:30 pm to 10:00 pm--Award Ceremony.
