Meet Business Design Services, owned by Robert Bocabella chosen Member of the Month in June.

My name is Robert Boccabella and I am the owner of Business Design Services in Lakeport. I moved here two years; to beautiful Lake county! I have been a Chamber member for 4 years – two years before I moved my  home and business to Lakeport. I am a member of the LCCC Board of Directors.  I also serve as a Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, welcoming new Members to the Chamber, and helping them to become more involved with our business community.

I have been in business 29 years in November, 2012, primarily based in Sonoma County -- and now also in the County of Lake.

I have been fascinated by design since I was a young boy.  I could look at design magazines for hours.  I made my mother crazy -- always wanting to rearrange the furniture! As a Certified Interior Designer, I offer all aspects of Interior Design:  Consultation, complete Project Coordination; Space Planning and Design; Purchasing; Project Team Development and Management. Although I have no employees, per se.  However, my network of suppliers, merchandise representatives and sub-contractors is virtually a cast of thousands!  I view them as my team, ready to help me meet any design project need. I take pride in my passion and commitment to make sure that each finished project reflects my client’s vision.

My primary approach to market my business is “one-on-one.”  Through hosting personalized events at our facility, my market gets to meet with me, relax in my design environment and get a feel for my approach to Interior Design.  I believe there is nothing as effective as time to relax and get acquainted.  Interior Design is a personal endeavor; my clients know they can trust me to listen.

At a “BDS Munch” business persons around town can exchange ideas, make new connections and just relax!   At my “Breakfast with Business Design Services” gatherings, I get to schmooz with those who can’t break away for lunch!  For me, it’s a win/win approach. Because I am extremely customer focused I am basically 24/7 -- because I seriously understand that improvements, refreshing a tired environment, and major design projects demand flexibility with time and days-of-the-week.  Many projects take place while business-as-usual continues.

I want to be the source for high quality, competitive, affordably priced Interior Design services for Lake & Mendocino counties. I also provide a series of articles appearing in the Record Bee twice a month.  The series focuses on the realities of entering and accomplishing an Interior Design project. On a personal note I enjoy clogging, dancing, hiking, reading. I believe in being involved – really and actively– with the community is a very important part of my personal and business life.  We all have things to learn about each other and about doing business in this region.  I greatly enjoy the mix of small town friendliness and hi-tech-capability that’s all around us.
