Mandatory Quagga/Zebra Mussel Sticker Program in Effect for Lake County
Residents may purchase a red sticker from several locations throughout Lake County, including the Lake County Chamber of Commerce. Each applicant must provide either their boat registration showing that they reside in Lake County, or a PG&E bill showing that they own a home or rent in Lake County to receive the resident sticker. You can call 263-2341 for a list of locations issuing stickers.
As of January 1, 2010, the Visitor Program will have a per month identification band set (2 bands) issued, a different color for each month. Visitors will need to bring their vessel to the location issuing the registration, for verification of the vessel being 'cleaned, drained and dry'. A fee of $10 will be charged for each set of bands. For up to date information on how to assist in containing the spread of the Quagga and Zebra mussels, please go to: www.co.lake.ca.us/mussels.
